NICOLAS STOCCO

Nicolas Stocco is a multidisciplinary circus artist, specialised in Aerial Arts, with complements in Dance
and Physical Theatre. He was born in Argentina, were he learnt the bases of different circus apparatus and their specific technique. He believes that aerial technique is one and only, but we just use it different depending on the apparatus.

With his own methodology called "Harmonic Motion" he taught workshops in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany and also regular lessons in professional set-ups since 2014.

He worked as a teacher of Trapeze and Hoop in profesional circus schools like CODARTS (Netherlands - 2023) ACAPA (Netherlands - 2022/21), Carampa (Spain - 2020) and INAC (Portugal - 2019)

He also improved his methodology to be executed in an online platform with groups since 2020

HARMONIC MOTION

Harmonic Motion is a methodology developed for aerialists to learn, practice and optimize their technique. Even though it takes inspiration in diverse aerial apparatus, Its focused mainly to be executed in Static Trapeze, Dance Trapeze and Aerial Hoop.
The workshop's main goal is to work on our coordination in the air, making our body to work together with the physics laws that will lead our movements. In order to achive this, we will optimize the technical language through the awareness of our center and our shoulderblades, and their positioning in the space. Among the different techniques to work on, the strength of the core will be emphasized as an enhancer of the swings/beats, the correct execution of the "kips" or suspensions, twisting techniques, and the correct positioning of the body in different supports, balances, and movements. This work will help us to connect technical movements in fluid sequences.

Techniques to develop:  BEATS / SWINGS, KIPS - POP UPS OR SUSPENSIONS, ROTATIONS AND TWISTS,  PLANK TECHNIQUE, PULL-UP TECHNIQUE, SPINNING TECHNIQUE, FALLS OR CONTROLLED RISK
